Last May, the political map of Quebec was redrawn when Jack Layton led the orange wave across that province.

Exactly 175 years ago, on March 1, 1837, Quebec underwent another important political revolution in what was then Lower Canada.

On that date, Louis-Joseph Papineau's 92 resolutions for political reforms were rejected by the British government sparking a rebellion that would lead to the establishment of responsible government for the colonies.

Please join BC NDP Leader Adrian Dix and the executive of the Vancouver-False Creek constituency to share some tasty appies and raise a toast to those who dared to rise up against unjust regimes.
